Restart your computer. Then when you open Resolve give it a few minutes to get up and running.

Yes, DaVinci is a rather powerful editor. Almost nothing is missing from the free version. However it relies heavily on having a decent GPU and has a steep learning curve.

I hope by RAID they mean RAID 0 (mirror) or RAID 1 (stripe). RAID 5 is slow, particularly if the xor is done in software within the driver. Might suffice as library storage.

Resolve downloads as a Zip File. Needs to be unpacked first. If you have room on C drive then save it and run it from there as that is usually the fastest Hard Drive drive. You can then save all videos etc to a separate drive.
I have a pretty fast powerful setup but it can still take a short while to load up.
The window doesn’t open on full screen until you click on a new project or previous saved video. Mine doesn’t anyway, not sure if I made that screen smaller before.
I have the paid version which requires a dongle to run even if you have the programme installed.
