I want to construct a waypoint mission the sends the drone to a location, starts the recording, hovers for 20 seconds for WP 1. For WP2 I want to repeat what WP1 did but with the drone aimed in a different direction from WP1. I set all of this up and it works fine with one exception. The pan motion from WP1 to WP2 is much too fast. Is there any way to control it? The speed option only appears to control the speed of travel between waypoints.

Thanks!

Maybe try adding another waypoint in the middle of the pan motion to include in the pan motion, or by combining two half pans together after, assuming the pan speed between two points cannot be slowed down.

You have direct control over the rotational speed using these three parameters:
  1. Distance between waypoints
  2. Cruising speed
  3. Difference in headings at waypoints
For example, if the distance between two waypoints is 10 meters and the cruising speed is 5m/s, the time it will take to travel that distance will be 2 seconds. Then, if the difference in heading of those two waypoints is 90 degrees, the drone will rotate at 45 degrees per second. Merely adding an intermediate waypoint will not change that unless it alters the distance, speed, etc.

Hi @hedbonker

Try this smethod:

1) Replicate WP2 and obtain new waypoints, like WP3, WP4, WP5 etc almost at the same location as WP2. (But the new WP5 is now actually the WP2 of your own scenario above.)

2) Add 3 dummy POI located in a suitable location (on an arc shape) so that, the camera will make the pan motion gradually (slowly) at each of the WP2, WP3, WP4, WP5 etc.

3) To make your shooting even better, you can increase the number of WPs and POIs in between the starting point and the end point of your flight, suitable for your satisfaction.

Wish you success.
