I tried out the Icarus luts today at the park. Ultimately I found that they made my image very dark, and I had to adjust the exposure and levels afterwards on each and every shot. I think I prefer auto. But, I wanted to share the footage I got with everyone. Enjoy.

Beautiful park, great footage btw. I think im going to make my own LUTs in da vinci reslove, maybe base them off of some one elses.

Really? Why would they be designed to be cut back by so much. Or, are they calibrated for ideal lighting conditions?
It's not an on/off switch.
If I use one I usually make a custom LUT in photoshop from representative frames and it's amazing how infrequently one you made earlier looks right on another day.

Hmmm...I might try and make my own too, then. Time to find some tutorials.

Luts are not an end all be all. Like the above few comments, they almost never represent the look you intend to get right after application. Meaning there's always adjustment to get your desired look and feel. The advertisements LUT creators give out are in the ideal applications and are created for that exact environment.

Okay. Thanks for the input then. I am new to video work, and I just haven't ever messed with this kind of stuff before. So, good to know!
