Just watched the movie, Coach Carter last night on Netflix. It's the true story of Ken Carter, who took over coaching the Richmond, CA high school boys basketball team, straightening out a squad of gangsta thugs, demanding academic performance, manners, and excellence. Really moved me.

Samuel L. Jackson delivers an outstanding performance as the coach. The team goes on to deliver an undefeated season and making it to the state championship tournament. Carter truly changed these boys lives and gave many of them a future, going on to college.

It truly "hits home" for me, recalling what a crime and gang ridden town Richmond was while I was growing up next door in Berkeley in the 70s. If you'd like to finish your day with an uplifting, good feel story before you turn in for the evening, I highly recommend it.

i find it interesting, and a little annoying every time i hear it, that people just claim "my bad" instead of actually apologising these days. I work a lot with teenagers and its there "goto" line when they do something wrong.

Stories like that should be filmed so anyone can enjoy them. But when it comes to TV, what do you guys think— is Hulu better than Netflix? It feels like I’ve run out of things to watch lately. Both have great shows and movies, but sometimes it’s hard to decide which one’s worth subscribing to at any given time. I’d love to hear your thoughts on what’s worth watching or which platform has the better content right now.
