What do you love about drone flying, what makes it a hobby for you?

I remember as an AMA member and RC flier "drones" for hobby was just getting off the ground mostly it was planes with cameras and some form of waypoints system. You couldn't even fly them on an AMA field it amazed me then. Then great planes came out with a trainer with auto recovery using tech and programming gleaned from "drone"hobby and AMA thought it was the next best thing since breadNbutter and I thought what hypocrisy is this.

Yeah, the British Model Flying Association is very snotty about SUAV's and many small private model flying clubs ban them from flying at their sites. Pathetic really...

Our club doesn't mind having a drone on in the flight line as long as you keep your eyes on your quad, the flight pattern, and never look down at your screen. If somebody is flying FPV they need to announce their intentions before takeoff. Several folks are willing to let you photograph their planes with something like a high speed racing quad but that's kind of a different story. A lot of the jet pilots won't even fly with the prop crowd especially 3D fliers, so we trade off. We also have separate areas for the Heli guys where all quads are allowed. IMO my MP is way too slow and flying in circles is not my cup of tea.

Although I do enjoy flying my drone to take pictures and videos of places from areas/angles I could never do with a regular camera, flying does make me nervous. I am always thinking one of the motors is going to have issues or something.... and the drone will fall out of the sky. Hands down post-production of pictures and videos taken with my Mavic2P is the favorite part as it introduced me to all kinds of post editing software which I continue to get better and better at. Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere Pro are slowly becoming items on my resume. Last, being a computer/software person, I am simply amazed with the technology behind Mavic2P. Hoping my fear of flying will eventually wear off, given I have only been flying since early January 2019.

I just like flying- While I'm out flying I think of nothing but flying- Little boy with drool coming out of my mouth when flying- I have a very high paced job and when I'm flying I think of nothing else
