Is it a crime if idiots (as you wrote) send the video viral ? Some people appreciate the editing work done.

Some people create others insult, I prefer to create.

Not from what I see, which is, as attached below.

"Is it a crime if idiots (as you wrote) send the video viral ?" No it isn't a crime but if believed by the masses it does not do the public perception of our hobby much good, ditto shutting down an airport because of a reported drone, eg Gatwick. Gatwick Airport drone incident - Wikipedia.

Anyway I have said my piece and will leave it at that.

Horrible editing. So obviously fake. Planes do not fly that fast that close over the city. Just comes off as whack. Waste of time.

That's a good remark but if you spend the needed time nothing is impossible with editing.

Of course you can fake smoke.

You can fake smoke, fire, explosions, etc etc. There's like a whole transparent library of effects that can be used in a video editor.

Smoke, fog, steam etc are among the easiest to overlay.

To be clear, I edited this video in about 10 minutes because I was testing a new 3D tool. I posted this video as a short on YouTube #forfun not as a cinematic video.

This short is apparently so bad that I don't really understand the attitude of some people who allow themselves to insult other people's work/test. On the one hand, some are afraid that "idiots" will think it's real and then claim that the editing is horrible, it's not serious and even very ridiculous.

A true professional/expert does not insult another person's work/test. There is a way to issue opinions / feedback with politeness and education.

Manners make men.

Ahh but I am not a professional or even an amateur video maker or pilot, I am merely a hobby drone flyer who has to suffer the consequences of ever tightening legislation, some of which may be in response to the general public's perception of drones.
I dare say quite a few here are in the same boat as me.
Posting such videos on youtube or elsewhere may not help with the perception of our hobby and therefore contribute to those rule changes.

Someone has already flown a drone VERY close to, or into, the over-a-city flight path of the American, Blue Angels display team, and someone has already faked a drone collision with something like a Boeing 757.
We don't need such publicity.

By all means make such videos but there is no need or benefit, to the rest of us, to posting them on the web.

Manners make men works in both direction.
