I was in the US Airfare Langley Air Force Base there! In addition, there is Fort Eustis US Army Base, and Newport News Naval Weapons Station. Tough place to get away from the military airspaces. You many need to get in you car and drive a bit.

I’m sure what you want is actual real world advice from people who have or regularly fly the area. Everyone is aware of AirMap apps etc.

A friend of mine who lives in that neck of the woods mentioned Sandbridge. He has flown with no problems.

I’ll be in the area next month for a day or so. I see North VA beach north of 66th st is in the clear. I see there is a major lack of public space up there parking etc. I will try my best to get a flight or 10 in.
