Where will the Mini 3 first be for sale? DJI or Retail Stores?

Just curious, since I have never waited for a drown to come out before. What is the typical deal when it finally comes out? Do people run to BestBuy or other stores or is DJI the place to go? Who typically has it available first?

I would be inclined to wait out the initial rush, to see what teething troubles there are and wait until those are sorted. Just look at what is happening with the M3. If I were in the market for one, which I am not, I think I would use Amazon, simply because of their ease of return and the general length of their return window, things might be different in the 'States'.

In the majority of cases first availability is through DJI with retailers close behind. There have been a few launches like the Mini SE that had availability in retail almost immediately but I think that is because those products were more a small update using existing tooling… with a full redesign like the Mini 3 appears to be I would suspect it would be supply constrained with initial availability through DJI.

Solid advice. One of the reasons why I got my Air 2S from Amazon and why i'll probably get the Mini 3 from there too, once all the furore has died down and the teething troubles have been identified.

The more leaks I see of the Mini 3 and possible high price and clumsy design, the more I am leaning to the Air 2s. Plus the Air 2s is sort of battle tested now. But if it turns out the Mini 3 is a big surprise from leaks I want to be able to run out and get one ASAP. I am willing to put up with the bugs it might come with.

I'm in no hurry. Air 2S is still flyable in A2 category until Jan 2023 with the A2 cert I have. Mini 3 will be well tested and sorted by then.

Probably will get it, but if the release is like the M3 (and there is nothing to let me think it won't) ) I will wait for all glitches, troubles and issues get solved first. I'm not in a hurry. In the meantime I'll continue enjoying my Mini 2 and Air 2S.

I have been trying to figure out how all these leaks equate to an early Release Date , it would make more sense from a Business point of view to finish up the Polish needed for the Mavic 3 before releasing the wonder bread of all Minis .

I am not holding my breath for this to be released this month , im thinking one more update for the Mavic 3 to settle the hangman squads and than Release the Mini 3.

Or perhaps, if it's ready, they'll release the Mythical Mini-3 ASAP, to placate the base generally.

After all, there are a lot more Mini-X owners, than there are Mavic 3 owners.

I suspect the sales dollars from the Mini-3, in its first year, will greatly exceed the sales dollars from the Mavic 3, since it's birth, and for the first couple of years of its run. Probably longer.

Follow the money...but this is just a guess...

I do not think you or anyone else helps "sort out" such teething troubles, people suffer their symptoms and hopefully report them but only the manufacturer can sort them out.

My experience with the Mavic 3 was not pleasant. DJI had it for sale online before local stores had it in stock so I ordered from them. Their shipping times were basically a lie though, and it ended up being faster for me to buy locally and cancel the order. It was a hassle, and I am not likely to order directly from them ever again. I'll wait for retail to get the Mini 3, earn more Best Buy points, and have less needless headaches.

It depends on whether or not you have the soul of a test pilot...

But we may have some language confusion going on.

By "sort out", I mean discovering, documenting, and figuring out the cause and a possible solution(s) to whatever teething problems there may be.

Only DJI could test and implement those possible solutions; only they could fix it.

But I'm fully capable of "sorting them out", as I've just defined, and I expect to enjoy doing it!

I am there day one, already sold my brand new air 2S and mini 2 which I believe are combined into the mini 3 pro. made some profit on the sale as well, so my mini 3 pro already has a 207 euro discount, which is about 250-300 dollar if I am correct.

Will order at multiple places, and once I have 1 in hand then I will cancel the rest.

I don't care about any bugs, with +75 hours of flight in the past 3 years without obstacle avoidance nor occusync (Parrot Anafi) I never had a single crash. So that the OA is not optimal in the beginning is of no concern to me, nor is slow GPS lock; I fly according to regulations anyway and am perfectly able to manually fly the drone without video feed even. So I'd gladly be there day 1
