Does it change at 7X? I thought 7X was still the main camera?Binocular icon to enter "Explore Mode". Once there you can zoom with the extra action button (blanking on the name) while scrolling the gimble wheel. You can also just hit the magnification of 1x to increase step by step... 1x, 2x, 4x, 7x, 14x, 28x. 7x is when it changes to the telephoto lens.
If you have the RC Pro controller you can zoom with the right scroll wheel while in explore mode.
1X = Main camera native 2X = Main camera (digital zoom) looks acceptable 4X = Main camera (digital zoom) looks horrible 7X = Zoom camera native optical lens and looks good 14X to 28X = Zoom camera (digital zoom) good for inspection but bad for videographer or photographers. You still can dial manually for custom zoom options. As a fact: When you use the binoculars to activate the zoom options you can not record in 5.1K currently. Only 4K and only 30FPS. You can not take RAW pictures either. I need to confirm if 1X-4X you can but I know 7X up you cant since is the zoom camera. Also you can not record in DLOG while zoom is activated. Only Normal Colors. |
You also have to stop recording in order to switch from one cam to the other which I find is very annoying. You tend to forget to start recording again.
Caught myself doing this a few times. Just means additional editing is needed later on.
I was referring to going from normal mode into explore mode and vise versa.I did not stop recording while I zoomed
Same here, and I upgraded it from the Air2S. I’m not a professional photographer and don’t sell my photos or video. Out of the box, I’m very happy with the M3 but certainly understand the concerns of professionals. Hence, I’m content for now and anxiously await the firmware upgrades.I’m sold. Works good enough for me
