New pilot from Phoenix, Arizona, USA

Welcome fellow Arizonian. Have fun with your Mavic. One piece of advice. Don’t get lured by the automatic features. Use them to help you not to cover your shortcomings. Practice manually a lot to build confidence.

    First Purchase Remorse

there is an adage in photography. The best camera is the one you have with you. You can create magic with every single drone. You just have to use it within its capability.

SDFLYER619 whatever you get you will have fun with it. The Air is pretty good by all account. Don't worry about it and get your feet wet with the Air. You will have a more informed position after you fly it. You'll then know what you want out of your drone(s).

    flying over water

It seems that wherever I fly there is some kind of water. Be it an ocean, a lake or a river. LOL You need to build your confidence up. Take baby steps. If you trust your drone the rest is mostly psychological. Flying over water gives you more creative tools to get cool shots.

Use of Crystalsky with Mavic 2 pro

Take a look at this thread. Tired of waiting for Mavic 2 support on CrystalSky? Wait no longer! I downloaded the file and updated the CS. It now shows the 2 as an option. I will probably acquire a 5.5 for travel purposes as well. And I am selling my Mavic Pro+Osmo combo with lots of extras.

Use of Crystalsky with Mavic 2 pro

I see where you're coming from but I have decided to build my fleet for my business with the two new Mavics (Pro and Zoom) and hopefully the Phantom 5 which is rumored to have interchangeable lens capabilities. If the Cendence is compatible with the Mavic it cuts down on gear to lug around. My...

Use of Crystalsky with Mavic 2 pro

Thanks for asking. I wonder if they’ll make Cendence compatible with the M2P as well?

What is the definition of REAL pilot?

Not the point of my post.

What is the definition of REAL pilot?

NASCAR drivers are pilots. the word pilot is adequate for drone pilots. Air Force drone operators are drone pilots. It is the qualifier before that says what kind of pilot you are; fighter pilot, airline pilot, aerobatic pilot, airshow pilot, stunt pilot, drone pilot and so on. It does not...

How does everyone transfer their videos to their computers?

Are you storing your video files on an external drive or secondary internal drive? If not it may be why the video is choppy on playback.

Polar Pro Cinema Filters: Vivid vs. Shutter?

If I may, Your a shooter so you know about their use. I would get both sets for the following reasons. I try to shoot early. Less people, better light. I found out that keeping the EV between -0.7 and +0.5 is the sweet spot on my Mavic (my Inspire 1 too for that matter.) as I start early I...

    "Why do you hate drones?"

When on a job, flying my Inspire 1, I make myself as visible as possible. I have a 5 foot landing pad, some cones, a bright safety vest and usually a media cart to serve as table. A people approached me with questions of what are you doing? After telling them, everything was fine. I even had...

Best setting for sunset with ND filter

Cook, a few things to look for or at least as a starting point. Shoot at 30 or 24 FPS and maintain an EV value between -0.7 to +0.5. Use an ND filter to achieve this value. Set the camera to manual, the ISO at 400 or less. I also would shoot in 4k. Again, use this as a starting point and modify...
