Brand new mavic pro won't turn on

I've just purchased a mavic pro and the aircraft won't turn on.

I've read the quickstart, user manual, googled, youtubed, followed all suggestions and still nothing.

Been at it for 5 hours now.

There does need to be a firmware update but because I can't turn the bird on I can't update.

All help is greatly appreciated.

More information...

One light is flashing while on the charger... furthest from the power button.

Has been on charge for over an hour.

I am aware of the press and hold power on method... the remote works in the same manner

Does the controller turn on ok?
You are doing the short press, let go quickly, long press????

Yeah. Doing all that. And controller turns on fine. Just the bird...

And taking the battery out of the craft, and putting it on charge, only one light eh?

Unfortunately not... I'll go back to the shop tomorrow and try a new battery

Not unheard of, but unusual.
I would buy a second one and deal with the return separately.
One battery is rarely enough.

We can assume the charger lead is good if it starts battery flashing.
Does the battery turn on when not in Mavic?
Sometimes turning on then connecting to charger does something different.
I wouldn't rule out faulty charger though, even if the USB outlet charges controller.

No offence... I'm exasperated as I've just forked out a heap of cash for something that's faulty...

I don't think he's being offensive, i think he's just committing himself, like when people are undecided then decide to go for if they say stuff it and go for it.

How do I know if the battery turns on outside of the bird?

The light(s) will stay on until you turn it off with same procedure.

Can you describe the flashing pattern of the one battery and indicate which light exactly is flashing. Just to make sure. Let’s call LED 4 the one closest to the power button.

Hi All.

It turns out it was a faulty battery... it wouldn't charge. Wasnt the charger.

Got an exchange and the new bird has successfully logged its first flight.
