Cable damage - controller to android

My standard micro usb cable became a little damaged due to normal use. Sorry if this topic has been discussed but I searched and browsed and didn't see this specific issue.

It seems the cable was cut by the little indent on the side of the controller where it's supposed to sit. I don't like the way the cable is constantly bent when folding the phone grips in and out. The damage was caused by only a few weeks worth of flights because now I primarily use an ipad and a long cable. I'm worried if I go back to using my android phone this cable damage will get worse and worse. I might wrap a strip of electrical tape on it to help prevent that.
The picture I attached might not look bad but I can actually see the wire a little in the split..

Anyone else with this specific issue and have any suggestions?

yep, mine (the lightening cable) has some scrapes in it, I've hardly used it too so I'm confused!

wondering if DJI sells replacements...

Been using mine since November without issue.
And yes of course they sell replacements.

Pick up a spare cable just in case it ever stops working or start using the bottom USB port instead.
