DJI Portrait Mode

Not a Mavic owner yet or ever used the DJI app, I just noticed that an update gives portrait display. Does this mean l could put an iPad mini into tho controller in portrait orientation.
Maybe a silly question .

It means the camera can be rotated 90 degrees.

Sorry if I'm being dense here, but what exactly does that mean? Does the UI realign for portrait mode also?

This feature actually has nothing to do with the camera's portrait mode. The UI will rotate when you rotate your mobile device. I think it only works when flying via Wi-Fi with a mobile device.

It has everything to do with the camera's portrait mode from my testing.
Before when you switched the camera to portrait mode the image in the app would still be "right side up" but obviously tiny since it was cross-oriented with the mobile device's screen. Now it fills the entire screen, but you have to awkwardly turn the mobile device to see the picture right-side up. The interface doesn't change though, so all in all it's just less practical and more awkward than before IMO.
