Drone Fires

A separate thread this morning reminded me of the dangers created by our hobby especially in high fire danger areas. Consider being prepared for the unexpected.

At home a handy fire extinguisher and water source (bucket) is a great idea.
So too placing the charger hub / batteries in a decent size baking type pan while recharging.
Outside in a safe place, or in same room while you do other tasks etc.

I always check by feel if my batteries are ok temp wise after 15 mins on the charger, and again periodically, and check for swelling.
I also check for swelling after flights, especially if pushing harder in sports mode.

Battery Safety.......??

I've been reading a bit on lithium battery safety and it's unclear what the best safety practices are. I've read a great deal about lithium ion batteries and the fires that can result but I don't know if that information transfers over to lipo batteries. Because wind turbines are an "interest"...
