Safety is my first concern. I used to teach flying a couple decades ago. All the great YouTubes out there have already armed me with a lot of info and esp. things to avoid.

Also as a teen flew RC with my father. The MP looks many times easier to control. That's not even the word. Guide would be better, I suppose.

DJI actually says: will ship 3-5 days after the order payment is confirmed. Add the en-route time to that (2 - 4 days ...:?)

Right -- they are saying the package will be shipped from their facilities after 3-5 business days.

the point being that your "Get a Mavic in 3-5 days" isn't what will happen...

3-5 days before shipping + shipping time is greater than "Get a Mavic in 3-5 days". Just arithmetic.
