I have found using the basic DJI zone request to get fairly close to London sights. The London eye wheel is pretty much as near as I could go to parliament coming from the east. Coming from the west I found I had to go some way south of the River Thames to find a launch spot. The ATC zone over London is quite wide. I was able go to the full 120 metres with no problem.

Lovely shooting. I am amazed that you could be clear to drone where you were. It’s surely forbidden anywhere in Central London. Plus it’s on the main approach to Heathrow. Must have look next time I’m in Town.

This is the zone I applied for you can go as far as you like to the right , or eastwards. The approach zone as you say is to the west or left on the diagram. With the sun behind you in the morning even better shots of parliament. Further north of my zone is also available. Nobody took any notice of the drone at all.
