Napili Bay, Maui - Need Info

Going to Maui soon and I’m wanting to fly over Napoli Bay area. Anyone out there with any experience flying that part of the island? Im good with over water low level but want to find out about any no fly areas around hotels and good places for take off and landing? I just just want good video and pictures and no issues.

It might be helpful for you to check out the B4U fly app. I use it often in surveying potential sites for using my drone.

I normally also start with the fly in regards airspace and no fly. But nothing like first hand info or experiences the local rules seem to be changing by the hour.

My experience in Maui last month was in every area I flew that wasn’t a no fly zone no one cared at all. Everywhere I went I saw multiple drones in the air. I just checked the b4 u fly app or air maps and if I was good to go I sent it. No issues except my mavic Air kept asking to recalibrate the compass. Initially thought it might’ve had to do with the lava rocks but it still asks me every time now back home anyways.

Thanks it also looks like the Kahului airport is class-G uncontrolled airspace.

Getting married in Maui on july 10! So excited woohoo! Hope to see you guys there

Kahalui airport is a major international hub with all the normal limitations of flight around it, including the five-mile do-not-fly rules.

Quadcopter flights are not allowed in state parks in Hawaii, and of course they are not allowed in national parks anywhere.

Those of us living in the islands who fly quadcopters will appreciate it if visitors follow all the rules.
