Smartphone charges from controller?

After having difficulty even starting a firmware update via DJI Go 4 I noticed that my phone was charging from the controller. I wondered if I needed to change my usb settings from charging.
However, after several attempts the firmware downloaded... and during that time my phone ended up with a higher charge.
Is this normal?
Also.. anyone have problems with downloading the updated fly zones data base. Mine stayed on 0%.

Android phones being charged is normal. It does not happen with Apple phones.
I have seen no solution, but I suspect if you can cut the Vcc line in the usb cable it would stop the android phone from charging.
As for NFZ I have not downloaded it yet so I have no idea.

I turned on my drone and my phone 100% charged and my controller 100% charged. After 20 minutes of idle time on the ground (in house) my controller was at 84% and my phone was 98%.. Anyone know if that is normal. Thanks
