Along the beach, I came across a guy, with what appeared to be a DJI Drone. I asked if it was a was, and he said No, we don’t use DJI, this is custom made. He told me it was for mapping, and accurate to within a half of centimeter. Then he bragged about the cost of the camera, and it’s computer, and how he’s tuned in to the Navy’s transponders for better accuracy. He wore a vest that said he was FFA Certified and was dressed like Ranger Rick. After listening to him tell be all the different brands and sensors he had, I had but one question. It was, “you’re measuring sand, right? Then a follow up...if your calculations are off by a couple of teaspoons, or a couple of dump truck loads, who would know?

Some people take they work very seriously. Your next question should be does he have to do it again the next day when the wave moves the sand by more than half a centimeter.
