I think he was intentionally trying to dump it in the fire. It has no gimbal on it.
To me, by the way he coned off the fire pit area, he was intending to land it there.I'm not sure .... because of the way he quickly starts dashing towards it after it's engulfed in flames. I think we was an idiot that was surprised by what happened.
Actually, flying that close to a fire will provide more lift, due to the updraft. I used to fly sailplanes, and we would chase thermals and stay up for alot longer if we could find them.
