Legality of selling photos taken by drone of privately-owned structures

Recently, the Marvel game, “Spider-Man: Miles Morales” couldn’t show the Chrysler Building, even though it appears in the most recent movie, because it couldn’t acquire the rights to include the Chrysler Building from its new owners. “Michael Lee, the founder of Lee Law, spoke to Game Informer...

Legality of selling photos taken by drone of privately-owned structures

I believe that if you are using images of fairly generic looking buildings and any artistic value in the images is due to your own talent, you should be fine. But if there are distinctive artistic and/or architectural details that make the building unique, then you should probably get...

    Do not understand .......

Someday - maybe - the whole world will get on the same page! Usually, I just get confused about whether I need a jacket or t-shirt when I hear that it's going to be 20℃. But who remembers the Air Canada flight that had to make a dead stick landing because the crew used the wrong units of measure...

    Keeping Eyes on the Drone

We always use strobes, day or night: Firehouse Arc IIs. Whites on the left forward and right rear arms, green on the right forward arm, and red on the left rear arm. That helps with both acquiring the drone and quickly orienting it. That being said, sometimes you still have to stop and rotate...

    Chernobyl

Sorry for the late reply! I've been away. Unfortunately, auto controls are going to create a dramatic shift in levels when you transition from one lighting situation to another. Even the human eye needs catch up when you walk out from a dark interior into bright sunlight or vice versa. Generally...

    Chernobyl

Mesmerizing! One comment. It looks like you have the camera set to autoexposure, so the levels fluctuate on certain shots. I'd recommend switching to manual, set the exposure and run with it.

    Mycasebuilder.com??

We used mycasebuilder.com a couple of years ago to produce a custom insert for an HPRC case housing a digital cinema camera and accessories. We didn't get our design quite right the first time, but they have a couple of options for a "do over", so that worked out great. Anyway, we've shipped the...

Safety Notification refuses to allow agreement

This was probably the problem. In bright light, the check button is difficult to see, but unless it's checked, pushing the Yes button won't do anything.

Mavic 2 forgot to take off gimbal guard. Does it do permanant damage?

Thanks. The box definitely said Mavic 2 Pro Gimbal Lock, although you never know. There could have been a screw-up somewhere.

Mavic 2 forgot to take off gimbal guard. Does it do permanant damage?

Thanks, Thomas. Maybe I'll give it another shot!

Mavic 2 forgot to take off gimbal guard. Does it do permanant damage?

Quick question about the Polar Pro Gimbal Lock. I ordered one, but I couldn't get the bottom tab to latch. I applied a fair amount of pressure, but the lower "hook" was many millimeters away from latching and the lock was pressed against the gimbal arm behind the camera, so much so that I didn't...

    Where did you buy from?

B&H does charge Connecticut sales tax for items shipped here. Not sure if that's a new thing nationwide, or just a state to state agreement. Obviously, that can be a hit for expensive items. That said, B&H have always had great customer service and they've stood behind everything they've ever...

    Law enforcement question?

Now this doesn't exactly cover the situation you describe, since it refers to an in-flight emergency, but to my mind the spirit of the regs is that if you, as the pilot-in-command using your best judgment, decide that the rules need to be broken in order to perhaps save a life, you go for it and...

    Which lights do you use?

We also use Arc-2s w/Aerial Pixel mounts. Very lightweight combination. We put a green strobe on the front starboard arm, a red one the rear port arm and white on the other arms, so we have a very bright light fore and aft, plus orientation information. The one weak spot is viewing the aircraft...

Smart Controller - just out of box, firmware will not update.

We received a Smart Controller yesterday. We charged it up (which was strange enough, because the LEDs were blinking really rapidly, but eventually they went solid), but we've had no luck with the update. We've changed storage settings, removed a microSD card (which we only inserted so we could...
