As much power as these battery need to charge, there is no way to run them when the car is off. In fact, you may need to turn on the headlights to "kick" the alternator into producing more power. Some Smart chargers (not sure if this one is or not) would stop charging if the battery falls below...

Considering that the DJI original charger does only 1 battery and it has been documented that its temps go to 140 - 149F, this is not bad for 3 batteries. It is still good that they are listening to customer feedback and improving it further.

There is something for everyone. I was checking out the $39 Apache case from Harbor Fright the other day and I think it will work well for my needs. Of course, if you put Gucci name on it, you could charge $399. :)

Check ebay. They are a few dollars if you are willing to wait a few weeks for them to be shipped from China. M2 batteries fit in the Mavic 1 LiPo cases I have. I honestly do not use them much. Since the charger gets so hot, I do put the charger on the LiPo bag sometimes in case it wants to...

Avoid 3rd partey sellers. Buy those that are sold by and shipped by Amazon.
