Original Mav Pro controller charge time?

That seems to help. Changed to another USB cable (shorter too) and it shot from 44% to 54% in less than 25 minutes. Could be in the charging sweet spot too. Should slow down again above 80%. To think tomorrow's flying is to condition the batteries for winter storage.... (Fly them down to 50%...

Original Mav Pro controller charge time?

The controller has a % indicator, not the bar of lights. I'll change the cable and see if that helps.

Original Mav Pro controller charge time?

Been charging my original Mavic Pro controller from about 5%. It's been unused since the spring. It's been on there for many hours (the 3 batts for the MP and Phantom 4 Pro are already charged and put away for tomorrow's flights). MP controller is only at 38% in about 4 hours. Normal?

    Transport Canada: Hypocrites?

This story popped today. All I can conclude from Canadian drone regs is they are there to trip up safe and legal operators while allowing idiots to do as they please... 'Brazen' drone footage of Raptors parade 'a slap in the face' to professional operators, pilot instructor says

What do the Canadian regs define as a “bystander”?

Is there such a definition from TC? If so I haven't located it. Please provide a link if you have one.

What do the Canadian regs define as a “bystander”?

TC are very bad at defining things. Here's my take on it. There is the pilot/operator and his "observer" to help him steer clear of things. But that applies to 'advanced' and the "observer" has to be trained as an observer, know the rules, and has to be able to communicate with the pilot...

Canadian rules explained - or not...

I have a possible flight coming up that per my "basic" license I can't do because it is class E, surface to 3000. It's an area where there is no traffic at all, but an oddball because of the shape of the airspace. Class E, no VFR separation services and for fricks sake, no IFR traffic will be...

    Passed "Small Basic" - Canada

I haven't looked into it yet but until I know how the review is conducted I'm not doing it. I'll look into it later this summer, perhaps.

    Passed "Small Basic" - Canada

Colour me various tones of envious with rich hues of jealously. Your wife could get her instructor's endorsements and then you could left seat under her "instruction". This could be tricky, however, as she'd have to qualify as instructor, instrument/night instructor and IFR instructor (based...

    Passed "Small Basic" - Canada

For some reason my hackles are up over being "Flight Reviewed" by someone who may have a vested interest in me failing. I certainly want to see what the reviewer is looking for. Once upon a time I was a flight instructor and about a week before the pre-flight test we gave a copy of the flight...

    Passed "Small Basic" - Canada

Not really. Read the rules. Find resources and so on. I'm a licensed pilot (commercial - used to be an instructor - no longer active) so I didn't look far beyond what I could find online quickly about the new rules - then I just did the exam pretty much on a whim. Most of it was just stuff...

    Canada .... True North

I just wrote the exam (basic) while heating my lunch soup. RIDICULOUS EXAM for the audience it is intended for.

    Passed "Small Basic" - Canada

W/o reviewing the new rules and setting myself a 20 minute limit for 35 questions I got 77% (took maybe 25 minutes in reality). Per the "debrief" I need to review right-of-way and Flight Ops Rules and Telephony. (Pass requires 65%). This is for the most basic license in Canada. I'm...
