Many thanks for your reply. I didn't realise that and nor did the DJI assistant I guess[emoji848]. In the past if I've lost connection it has obviously done as you say but by the time I have connection again it has retraced and is on its way back[emoji4]
Just online chatted to DJI and their advice is "I would suggest to calibrate the IMU and compass of your drone"
My only concern is that if this happened again and my controller didn't reconnect then I've lost it[emoji21]
Hi All. I was flying my MA today with no problems until I lost signal whilst it was only 310m away. The RTH option appeared on my screen and I accepted this. Next thing I see is the signal returns and my MA going in completely the wrong direction. I cancelled RTH and brought the MA back myself...
I have the S6 edge+ and it works faultlessly with DJI Go 4. It's worth getting one of these for it to help in strong sunshine;-

I turn phone brightness up to full and switch off auto brightness which also helps.
@Long Ranger
Well I didn't intend for this to be a range test with my stock MA as can be seen from my flight path/Sport Mode. Thought I was being sensible turning back at 62% battery and did have a mild heart attack as my MA wanted to land due to critical battery with 462m to go to HP[emoji21]...
First time for me using FCC tonight and what a difference[emoji16] Went to 2000m with a tailwind, where I could only go 800m before. Still had a strong signal but decided to head home with 70% battery left. This was done with the latest Dji Go 4 update 4.2.20
