Hey everyone, I just read this article regarding part 107. Does anyone know if this strictly for renewals? Im trying to find out if this means you still have to go in to take the test as a first time applicant.

I agree with your concerns, My MA2 has been very predictable on take off. That is, it goes straight up like it's supposed to. Some drones don't have the auto take off feature like the MA2, hence some of the injuries. I will never take off / land from the hand and I hope some of the members...

Thanks for the reply. Im sorry I should have been more descriptive with the conditions. I was flying next to a cliff, however I was about 500 feet away from it, yet the wind was calm. I would rather not post my flight log on the internet. I will keep an eye on it and post again if it happens...

I was flying the other day over the ocean around 300ft. All the sudden my max altitude warning came on (I have my warning set to limit my altitude to 390 feet). I also noticed an altimeter error when I flew within 50 feet of the ocean. It read zero a couple of times when I was around 30 feet...

I've been waiting to fly over the ocean for awhile now. This was my second flight out.... conditions were perfect!

My understanding is that a warning should prevent something from happening, not warn you after the fact.

I did something similar, but I was looking at the distance thinking it was the height.... I was like there is no way that hit 400 ft already haha
