Got mine about 2 weeks ago and it works fine. It was pretty easy to install but I'm still confused about how to register it with the FAA. I first altered the serial number of the drone I'll be using it with but then heard that you leave that alone and register the module separately??? Otherwise...
I want to protect my existing MAVIC 2 software so I decided to pay $90 (discounted to $71 right now with RID20OFF code at Amazon) for a Holy Stone module. That seems to take care of the RID issue for me after I register the RID module with the FAA, and the cost is a reasonable compliance "fee"...
Some here have stated that changing locations has no effect on compass calibration but in fact location can have a significant effect since the compass in most drones is magnetic and the earth's magnetic field changes with location and even time. Here's a magnetic declination plot for the US and...
Not to hijack the OPs original suggestion, I've been using my Monoprice cases for more than 6 months now and haven't noticed any foam issues after many insertions and removals of the equipment. When was the last time you used their product? It could be they have upgraded the foam since then. The...
I'm in the US and went with two cases from Monoprice (one for my M2Pro and the other for the controller). They're airtight polypropylene and fit well, with room for accessories, and they have the pluck foam liners. Not that expensive. Just another option for those looking.
Try giving your charge circuit exposure to a low discharged state (20-30%) and see if that produces a 100% reading when you do a full recharge. Let your battery sit over night after discharging and then do a full charge and see if it makes a difference.
How far did you discharge the battery before doing this recharge. The charge management system will re-calibrate itself on a deep discharge so that might be the reason??? It can lose track of where 100% is when there are a number of not-so-deep discharges (and when frequently topping off the...
Explain how you're charging using an external battery. Usually, you provide 5 Volts (via the DJI charger) to the drone battery (the latter of which contains the charge control circuit). How are you connecting that external battery to the drone battery and what voltage is the external battery?
You're depending on a battery management system to indicate the degree of charge and these can be out of calibration since the system is only estimating the amount of charge based on the voltages it sees during charging. One thing that might help is to discharge the battery to a low value (NOT...
As a note, I've had difficulties with the drone syncing the jpegs to the controller. When I first started using this feature, the files would be in the controller SD card as soon as I finished shooting, but now I have to reslide the sliders for syncing and then turn the controller off and back...
High resolution IS available on the Controller SD card, but apparently only in jpeg form. Jpeg can be quite good although it lacks the adjustability that RAW does. While not RAW, the jpeg files have the same spatial resolution that the RAW files would.
To date, I've only had jpeg files transferred and haven't delt with RAW files. It takes about 4 seconds per image to transfer a jpeg and RAW files are considerably larger so it makes sense that Mavic chose not to provide for the transfer of RAW files but I can't say for sure that's not possible...
Thanks for that Thomas. The US Amazon has them listed as not available (went for $25US) but your second list works for that same price so all is great. Appreciate the info.
Sorry folks, but in checking on the PolarPro gimbal lock (thought about getting one for my M2Pro), most sites are now saying "no longer available" though some list it as on backorder. Doesn't sound too promising............
It actually looked like a pretty good solution and would be a lot less...
That's correct. The file system is FAT and has a maximum size almost exactly what the OP stated. FAT is the standard format which is used with SD cards and if NTFS is used (not sure it can be), the drone wouldn't recognize it. It also applied to earlier computers and hard drives so you were...
