But we cant turn down the contrast and sharpening 'in camera' which is a big shame as this is really all the 'normal' video needs to give a great starting point. Is there any indication from DJI that they are planning to introduce these controls in a software update?
I would be quite interested to see the difference between the 7x 'zoom' 'cropped' and the 28x 'zoom' uncropped. My guess is there would be little difference.
Phillip Bloom makes some interesting observations on Normal v D-Log Prores from the Mavic 3 cine.
1. The Normal Prores is genuine 10 bit (as opposed to 8 bit packaged in 10 bit as one poster suggested.) This is different from the 'normal' on the Mavic 3 which is 8 bit 4.2.0. So good news.

So I am really interested as to whether DLOG ProRes (as opposed to normal ProRes) is really necessary on the Mavic 3 Cine. I really dont have enough experience with ProRes to test this properly myself.
I have been using normal ProRes. It does have a number of advantages.
1. Cleaner view on the...
I havent had my Mavic 3 long but I am slightly dubious whether it is worth shooting in DLOG-M with ProRes. There is a ton of dynamic range in the 'normal prores' (and I live in a high DR environment - Thailand.) I think of it more this way. When I shoot 'raw' with my stills (me or anyone else)...
Unfortunately I suspect that if it is 'fake news' it makes increased regulation 'more likely'. Consider, if you can close Gatwick for 36 hours because of drones when there isnt a drone, what happens if there actually is one?
As far as I can see, there is nothing in this incident that speaks of a lack of regulation. I mean the airport didnt shut down because there was a drone 'within 5 km of the airport when the regulation says you shouldnt be within 1 km of the airport.' It is absolutely certain that whoever did...
People on this forum should know (far better than the average person) how difficult it would be to pull a stunt like this off without being caught - we are certainly not talking about some guy with a Mavic and a bunch of batteries. I am sure that a degree of incompetence from Gatwick security...
Is there any evidence that the people behind this attack were 'idiots'. From the reports I have seen they would seem to be pretty 'smart' with a 'very well planned operation'. While security might not be the best at Gatwick, I find it hard to believe that 'idiots' could close down the airport...
