I stopped a flight to change a battery. When I attempted to take off after the change I received a message to calibrate the gps. I tried a couple of times but still received errors. Finally I gave up, shut it off, and pulled the battery. I reinstalled the same battery and everything worked fine...
It’s not more dangerous. It’s equally dangerous. The risk of a multi-car pile up due to an object dropping from the sky onto traffic is essentially the same in both scenarios, relative to traffic volume and speed. The rules, as I interpret them, do not distinguish between the two.
