Honestly, you just shouldn't fly without a controller. Flying with only a phone is extremely difficult, and presents problems, such as the one you mentioned above. The drone and controller are so small, packing space should not pose a problem.

The issue is, this is a new mavic that I bought. There have been no previous owners. I only added the Dji Refresh to an Dji Account that I myself no longer have access to. I was wondering if there was any way to switch the Refresh from one account to another?

Well, most major airlines recommend any batteries of any type to be either fully, or partially discharged while in transit, and the Dji Quote can be found in the User's Manual of both MP2 and MPZ Drones.

30% is what Dji suggests, so yes, you are right.

There is no "Requirement" by airlines, but it is HEAVILY suggested by both the airlines, and Dji.

You can either allow the batteries to discharge themselves automatically, (the process starts after 10 days of the batteries being unused, and takes 3-4 days to complete,) or you could manually discharge the batteries by hovering your drone in a backyard / parking lot until they get low enough...

If you are riding with a partner, you could also sit in the back, and pilot the drone manually from their while your partner drives.
