With my nautical head on red lights would go on the port side [left facing forward] and green on the starboard It the international recognized navigation layout. This would enable you to determine whether the drone was flying towards or away from you

Ipad mini works well you dont have to go mad you can buy a fully refurbished on for abou £150. The other plus is that they actually fit into the arms of the controller

If you get a SECONDHAND ipad mini form amazon [£150] it will actually fit into the mavic2 pro controller and for the price its a very cost effective way of getting a big screen without any hassle It works very well for me
