New mav mini won’t turn on?!

I was never able to get beyond power to the drone and it came up on the iphone screen with an erroro code. The drone never flew, never spun up, only the green lights came on. That's as far as I could get with it.

New mav mini won’t turn on?!

Got mine, first drone, at Christmas. DOA. Returned it to DJI for replacement. It took a month because it was from Amazon and I had a bit of a run around with DJI and the care insurance I had purchased. I thought it was funny . A drone that never was able to be activated but had to return it as a...

    Adding sound to video

I drop the SD card onto my mac and open it like a drive. The files are there. I put mine into photos then use them from there when imovie access it. A little bit of a learning curve but much less than most. Then again iMovie is more of a recreational user program. It does a good job but not high...

    First Time.

Yes I've been up there. Did a lot of backpacking in my younger days. Lots on the Appalachian trail. Kokadjo is northwest of it but still good wilderness up there. I'm so glad you don't think of Maine as Acadia national park. Seems that's all anyone knows of Maine. It's a speck in the state.

Mavic Mini frequent disconnects from controller

I'm fairly new to this but when I first got my drone the cable was bad and it was connecting/disconnecting periodically. Tried all kinds of stuff then replaced the cable... issue hasn't returned. Don't think that is your issue looking at the flight characteristics but I'll throw it out as an...

    That’s one fast Mini!

It's the, "I used to walk to school in a blizzard every day, uphill both ways", thing. Obviously a wicked headwind, both coming and going ;-)

    First Time.

I'm 66 and have flown mine twice. Kinda fun. I'll use it more when we do some travel camping (soon?). Where I am in Maine trees are 1.5" apart it seems. getting into the sky is like going through a maze. Have fun!

    Mavic Mini from High Altitudes?

Yes, you can be at 10,000 ft and still be close to the ground right? Hover around near the ground. See how things go. The air is the same as if you let it fly off the side of the mountain. So, it would be a safe test.

    Float

I'm new to the mini and live on a large lake. I flew it over the lake this winter as I could walk the ice to get it if I had to. But, this summer I'll be apprehensive to do that. I often thought. At the low mass of the mini, seems it wouldn't take much to keep it from sinking. Some 1/8" skin...

    Mavic mini tablet

Turn off cache when recording. That worked for me on my standard sized ipad. I'd lose the picture altogether after awhile. Disconcerting as I'd have to hit the RTH button and hope for the best.

    Video Help

I'm in a similar situation. I've owned macs since 1984, the year they came out. And other apple products before that. What I find amazing is that unlike the computers of old, the things, these days, will stay viable for such a long time. Used to be after two years stuff progressed so that the...

    Video Help

Yes, they have beta versions and many of them will run with rosetta which is the bridge that apple provides. Adobe has promised final conversions of all it's stuff in 2021. Will probably be done before I pull the trigger for an M1. My 2014 27" imac is still going strong but the second imac M1...

    Video Help

That's been my general view over the years. Especially the first M1 imac. It's really going to be a transition machine. Won't even look much different. The next version will be the new design. The M1 (and M2 slated soon after) is, I think the beginning of a series of super fast machines.

    Video Help

The new imac has everything on one chip. So transfer of information is amazingly fast. People with the laptops are reporting that 16mb of memory is more than sufficient where these days 32 mb would be needed. The thing is able to utilize all memory for the GPU and CPU at will, something other...

    Video Help

Looks like your next computer, if an iMac again will have the m1 or m2 integrated chip. The laptops and mini have it now. It's rivaling and in some instances blowing away their $4k power pro models used for video editing in the movie business. The results have been nothing short of amazing.
