Trouble is that the iPhone automatically dims the screen when it gets too hot (to avoid overheating). When I'm out on a hot sunny day, my iphone 7 becomes almost unusable.

D Definitely do not recommend bringing a portable charger. Most airlines have a limit of 100 Wh. The Smatree DJI M2 one is 148 Wh so a good chance it will be confiscated.

Some kind of sunshade for the phone screen would be handy. Not sure if you are heading to South Africa but they have weird non-standard electrical plugs/sockets.

Distortion isn't an issue that can be remedied by getting the drone 'fixed', as it is an inherent part of the lens design. It is corrected by a lens correction profile though in the DNG and JPG files.

Almost all cameras generally have a sharper image in the centre of the frame and softer corners and edges. If it is assymetrical though, e.g. the left side of the frame is softer than the right, there is likely to be an alignment problem between the lens and the image sensor. This can only be...
