Thank you! Thank you! This is exactly what I was looking for. I just visited the YouTube tutorial on this and can't wait to test it out. Since DJI is likely to drag their feet in making a good waypoint app available through them, this looks like it could be the saviour. This is exactly what...
I am a 107 licensed sUAS pilot having flown an old Mavic Pro for 6 years since they first came out. I flew it into a tall very plush pine tree a month ago with no chance (or wish) to recover or replace it since it did not have remote ID now required for flying. So,,, I purchased a Mavic 3 Pro...
You are correct on all points. I do use my drone for business so I have a part 107 drone license for that reason which means that even thought the Mini is under 250g, I still need remote ID since I'm flying commercially. I didn't buy the m3p for the weight, but because DJI said the mp3 would...
Like it or not, remote ID is the LAW in the US and are required to comply with it by next September. I plan to fly legally but others may want to thumb their nose at remote ID and fly illegally. Now, to be in compliance with my old Mavic Pro, I may have to add that capability at a price as a...
My guess is that DJI doesnt want to lose the waypoint business to the third part "Litchi" type businesses so they don't want to provide the SDK's to make that possible and push customers toward their expensive "enterprise" drones which use the DJI waypoint system which seems to be inferior to...
Why? Because the Mavic Pro is fun too as well as being able to fly waypoionts. Spending an additonal ~ $1,000 wont give me $1,000 more fun. I have used the Mavic to fly very scenic and technically smooth videos using points of interest and radiused flight paths and produced very practical...
Confused by posts above saying that the Mini 3 Pro can by flown by Litchi.
First of all, I thought Litchi needed and SDK for the M3P to make it work. No SDK for it now.
Secondly, the Litchi site does not include the M3P on its compatibility list.
Thirdly, and most confusing and annoying, DJI...
As the OP and after reading so much of the above, my thoughts:
I am not a ortho mapping commercial drone user. When videoing a point or area of interest, I found that I could create much smoother and technically more complicated cinematic videos using waypoints and "points of interest" rather...
As the OP and after reading all of the above, I have decided to return my Mini 3 Pro to DJI since it is withing the 14 day return period and continue to fly my waypoint missions with my "antique" Mavic Pro. I will wait to see how options develope for remote ID since I have until September of...
I wish I had your previous experience and, I agree. I never would have bought the mini 3 had I known. Waypoint capability is an incredibly valuable feature once you've experienced it. This should be a warning to anyone else who is considering the purchase of a mini 3. I did a search to find...
I purchased a Mavic Pro many years ago when they first came out. I LOVED IT! I found that the most valuable and most used feature was to fly waypoint missions using Litchi and DroneDeploy for automomous mapping and scenic smoothly flowing cinematic videos. When the Mini 3 Pro came out, I was...
Maybe that's the secret. Target the boat from a distance to reduce it's movement on the screen, lock it into the tracking mode and then move closer to do the maneuvering.
I want to be able to rotate around the boat, change altitude and distance, all while keeping the camera pointed at the boat. I should be able to do that in DJI tracking mode if I can mark the boat properly.
My problem is trying to insert the rectangle on the boat while it is moving in the frame. I can;t fly the Mavic to follow the moving boat and use my fingers to draw the rectangle around the boat at the same time.
