Hello fellow Mavic pilots...thanks for your time, patience and input!
I've finally decided the Mavic 2 Pro is NOT inferior to the Mavic Pro (Platinum). I took both out to this mountain valley and the wind was around 20 mph. The vid was rock stable with the M2P, but was very sketchy with the...
Congrats on your MPP! If you're sticking with the MPP, I see no real advantage with the R/E goggles other than looking a bit cooler and having red leather padding. There "may" be a bit better range with the additional screw-in Pagoda antenna, but the R/E goggles seem to be more affected by...
Own both the Mavic Pro & the Mavic 2 Pro...along with the DJI Goggles and the DJI Goggles R/E. The MP and the base Goggles work like a champ...all the way past 15,000'. The M2P and the R/E goggles barely get to 10,000' with the Pagoda (~2500' without). I'm very impressed with the M2P without...
OK. Thanks for your responses. If I do return my M2P, it will be because of compatibility issues with the DJI RE Goggles. I'm having the same issues as others with range reduction and losing simple command functions.
Has anyone tried using DJI goggles with their new Mavic 2's?
I've had a few flights with my new M2P after selling my old MP. Although the range, flight time and signal strength are somewhat better...that's about all I find better with the M2P. I hope I'm wrong or just getting used to it, but these are my gripes with the M2P:
1) Downloaded video not...
I'm seriously considering the upgrade from the MPP to the Platinum. I use all my flight minutes to the max and sometimes those extra 3 minutes can make the difference by doubling the "on-station" time. I like flying in the mountains and it can take 8-10 minutes just to travel to the shooting...
I use my DJI goggles quite a bit and really like them. However, the spots and smears were starting to form on the lenses. Like with cleaning all my other optics, I gave them a puff of keyboard compressed air to remove the dust. Then I used Zeiss optic wipes to clean the lenses of...
Exactly! One of my fave locations to shoot is over 8000' away from launch point. Just getting there and back take most of the battery life...leaving me just a minute or two to shoot pix.
The main reason that I'm asking is that my current MP is limited not by signal, but by battery life. I photograph a lot in the mountains and "travel time" from launch point to area I'm interested in shooting is at least 50% of the battery life. The on-station time is what is important to me...
Has anyone posted a real-world test of the new Platinum model. I'm very curious on actual battery life, performance characteristics of the new motors (MPH?) and prop noise. Plus, I'd be interested if there are any updates with regard to range, video quality, features or safeguards. Thanks!
It was a $5 (including shipping) OTG cord and a set of $30 props for me. My $1300 Mavic Pro Fly More was delivered to the front desk at my apartment. Go figger!
