One more thing... whatever you do (theoreticaly) in this scenario, DO NOT PRIME THE MOTORS! Doing so would cause the drone to auto-takeoff and if one wouldn't be expecting this, some injury could ocur. Launching from the "Scroll to launch" option would be advised.

The Mavic Air turned away from you when it disconnected because it was trying to retrace the path. Read the manual under "Failsafe RTH". I don't know the algorythm behind it, but it sometimes does it, some times it doesn't.

I don't know the algorithm behind the programming of the Air, but during my tests it sometimes retraced the path and others it flew a straight line. What the manual says is that the vision system creates a real-time map during flight. I'm guessing that if this map shows an abstruction it then...

Hey guys. For as long I have my Mavic Air, I've been using the 16Gb Sandisk card that originaly cam with my Mavic Pro. Even tho the app keeps poping warnings about slow write speed, the 4k recordings look just fine, so I have never thought about upgrading (mostly because 16Gb have been enough...

When Failsafe RTH is triggered the Mavic Air acts differently from other DJI drones. It retraces it's path back to the homepoint rather then flying a strait line.

Indeed I didn't test it. I might make another video about it. But if I recall correctly (which I may not) from flying around, applying oposite stick is still slower than pause button (at least in P mode). Not sure tho when comparing it to leting go of the sticks.

@Lake_Flyer agree with every word. But knowing there is an option, doesn't mean you have to take that option. For example, if one is doing a cinematic lateral movement with no sensors, then perhaps left hand can cover the pause button in case you visually spot something odd, and don't take that...

Resolution wise that's very true. But the differences start there. The spark having a mechanical gimbal and DJI flight tech makes a whole lot of difference. But I get your point. The Mavic is still a better upgrade. Only suggested the Spark because of the economic limitation.

First off, let me start by stating I was quite happily surprised someone linked my video here :) Glad it helped someone! I read somewhere that if you handcatch and turn the aircraft to the side to turn off the props you put some extra strain on the motors. Not sure how accurate this is tho...
