Try the point of interest smart mode, I think I used that and it allows you to just drive the mavic in a direction and it keeps the subject in view.

And yes they just slip on or off very easy

The cities don't make those rules, the Feds do. The FAA would be the source to issue permits to fly in restricted air, flying over populations, is not currently allowed UNLESS they are part of the commercial drone team etc.

I think they are great, it's just too bad dji does not build them into the mavic so you could have integrated control of the strobes. That would be sweet!

I too have these x 3 and have flown at night past 2 miles and the are VERY visible. I leave mine on the drone and the fwd arms will fold with them installed. The rear unit I just velcro on to my rear landing gear. Great for via during daytime too.

I have found the go4 app to be inaccurate regarding class d airspace. It shows that warning to me often when I am not in or close to class d airspace, heli ports seem to cause this warning for me, such as a hospital port, even when I am outside 1 mile of it. Helipads are not normally class d...

They cause the gimbal to stop during boot up and give the overload message. I sent a note to the seller and they refunded my money right away, did not...
