Mavic Air / Polar Pro Filters (Sea / Beach / Coast)

To get that water that see through my take is you'd need a polarizer. Or really excellent sun position and no wind. Polarizer is more reliable ;)

Mavic Air / Polar Pro Filters (Sea / Beach / Coast)

Sure looks like a polarizer was used and then shot raw with some good post processing. Note that the sun would have had to be in the right place for the polarizer to work. So either good planning by the photographer or fluke ;)

    Flying in Mainland China

In May I saw a guy flying a Mavic near Jiankou (near Mutianyu). Our guide said that was not allowed. As well the Shanhaiguan area was also not allowed. Officially at least. So it is possible if not 100% legal.

    Litchi waypoints?

If I understand things correctly the SDK is out and has been since launch. But DJI did not enable waypoints at all for the Air. Ergo there is nothing anyone, DJI and Litchi included, can program too to make waypoints work. Has to be done in the Air OS first, then expose the APIs that the SDK...

    Litchi waypoints?

For those that are wondering SDK stands for Software Development Kit - IE instructions on how to build your own software to plug into DJI Mavic Air's features. What Litchi needs to access to make the various drones controllable by Litchi software. Oh and if features are missing in the Air OS...

Pro vs Air REAL sound test with Pitch

Thank you for this. I want a small compact drone with a quiet sound. And I want a high quality sensor/camera package. basically I want the quiet of the Platinum with the camera of the P4P and the size/weight of the Air. I don't want people mad at me for getting my shots. And yes "normal...

Sucked in by the hype videos...

@Yosh - that would be great. I was looking at the Mavic last year as a photo platform. Weight/size is paramount for me as I'm already carrying 25# of gear. But the actual quality (noise mostly) of the photos was enough for me to not invest. The Air meets the size and weight but the jury is...

Flying by sailboats over the ocean at sunset!

Very nice footage and composition. I agree with the other comments that the transitions were a little jarring at times. Even a very short dissolve would make them feel better. But you obviously have a good eye for the shots.

    Mavic as a still camera

More or less yes. jpg is a compressed format and easily consumable by anything these days. raw has more data and thus is much larger BUT you can do so much more with a raw file (colour, tone, white balance, sharpness etc). So while most of my shots off my high end DSLR I use the jpg I still...

    Mavic as a still camera

I'm still on the fence. Primarily a travel photographer and am in places sometimes where speed to get the shot, as well as time of day are not on my side. So I tend to shoot raw+jpg. jpg for the daily blog I do and RAW for the shots once I get home. Challenge is when I travel I only have an...

Case Advice - Mavic Pro & Nikon D500

Mindshift Gear has a ton of amazing options. After dozens of bags over the years this is the first "perfect" bag I've ever found. It is global overhead approved and flexible enough to carry a couple bodies, large lenses and will fit my future Mavic as well. I bought the Rotation 180 large...

    Some video I shot today

Nice compilation. Questions on the settings: Did you use any filters? D-Log or ? for settings? Any post process colour work? I'm learning all I can about the various options and "ideal" settings and likely would shoot in light you had so I'm always curious to know what others used.
