RELIABLE map of drone-safe areas in Canada

@Robert Prior thank you for the detailed pointers, I did not realize how involved the Canada permit system is. I took the test yesterday and have submitted my SFOC-RPAS application. On my original question, I have found two excellent sources of detailed parcel-level information on park...

    Canada No-fly zones map https://nrc.canada.ca/en/drone-tool/

This is an old thread but it is still relevant and never fully answered the critical question - is there a reliable source of provincial parks that shows the actual legal park boundaries in relation to roads that may run through the park. For example, it looks like Canada Hwy 16 runs through...

RELIABLE map of drone-safe areas in Canada

What is the most reliable source of information where drones are allowed to fly in Canada? There is this https://nrc.canada.ca/en/drone-tool/ but is it utterly and completely useless. For example, it claims that it is legal to fly in Mt. Robson Provincial park, yet the parks themselves are...

Is there a definitive source of no-fly zones?

Yes, indeed a shame. I was "flying" around the Eagle River trail on Google Earth and the valley about two miles south of The Perch look amazing from an elevated viewpoint. I will probably still snowshoe it (avalanche conditions permitting) because once it gets flatt-ish even the ground based...

Is there a definitive source of no-fly zones?

Thx but this seems to also tell me stuff about the airspace, not whether I can actually take off or land from any particular area. I understand that having a database of every individual parcel of private land is darn near impossible, but it seems that federal and state lands should be doable...

Is there a definitive source of no-fly zones?

The FAA website seems to only identify the status of the airspace, but not whether you can take off or land at a particular location... which given the VLOS requirement is often next to useless. For example the FAA No Drone Zone is explicit: air space authorization does not mean land use...

Is there a definitive source of no-fly zones?

Newbie first post, please be gentle :D B4UFLY and related apps are a great source of information on where you can and cannot fly... except that they seem to be far from exhaustive and authoritative. For example, I am heading to AK in the near future and was mapping out potential areas to fly...

The Geek is in the house

Amateur photographer and long-time disparager of drone pilots who fly their birds in the middle of nowhere. Routine bird flipper to pilots who why over me :D Broke down and purchased a refurb Air 2S. Plan on using it mostly for scouting areas that are beyond my meager scrambling skills. If...
