Has anyone bee able to get FAA approval to fly in a Class D 0 ceiling? I own a Mini 2 series drone and have always been denied by drone zone to fly regardless what minimum height I request. I want to follow the rules but I see toy drones that can fly much higher than my drone without having to...
Have any of you had luck receiving approval from Drone Zone or LAANC on areas that are Class D airports that show a max altitude of 0? My plan was just to practice in front of my house. Flying below roofs and treetops. Every time i submit a request through drone zone always get denied.
@Vic Moss The gentleman I spoke to was very helpful and able to clear up all the legalese lingo for me. I wish a layman terms explanation was available like that to recreational flyers like me.
@Vic Moss thank you for the info. That’s even better to know that i can fly at night. I also got confirmation from the local AMA here in regards to where I can fly my drone without violating rules.
@Rich QR Thank you for the link you provided. I found another link defining the rules of a class E. And somehow this makes sense now, other than an Class E2 (airspace) where authorization is required. That is probably why the DJI Geo Zones do not identify the spot with any colors. Here is the...
I've been doing research on where I can fly my Mavic Mini 2. As most of you know FAA categorizes UAS as Public, Civil and Model Aircraft. I believe I fall under model aircraft category since I do not fly commercially. I am a recreational flyer, and own a Mavic Mini 2. The Mini 2 weighs 242...
I just want to ask the question. I have a Mavic Pro, and a good portion of my area falls under Class D. After going through a bit of research I learned that I needed approval to fly in a Class D airspace. Unfortunately KittyHawk or Airmap does not include my area on their LAANC approval yet...
One image is from DJI's Geozone page and the other is from Know Before You Fly. I apologize it was not B4UFly. Location is in Okaloosa Island, John Beasley Park. Thank you in advance.
I’m confused what to follow. The DJI Fly Safe shows the area I want to fly as allowed (no circles or colors) however the b4ufly app shows the entire spot as red. Any advice? Thank you.
Also anothe question, if i can unlock at a Class D airspace can I fly my drone under 100 feet?
Just read this great article on magnetic interference.
Verify the compass is not being negatively affected by nearby interference
Check the status message at the top of DJI GO and make sure it’s not reporting a magnetic interference. If you see this warning, that’s a sign that your drone is...
