Master Airscrew Mavic Air Props now available

Yes, that was the first thing I did, even before I took off. The thing still jumped like a jackrabbit.

Master Airscrew Mavic Air Props now available

A word of caution, though others may not have this experience the MA in sport mode is considerably more agile with the Airscrew props. So much so that I accidentally flew it into myself for the first time in over a hundred flights (and have the cuts on my hands to prove it). I just pushed the...

    Noob from Austin, TX

I didn't get a waiver, no. As far I knew, at the time anyway, that was only necessary for commercial drone flights. That may have changed since: the law seems to be a bit confusing on this. The Air doesn't have a zoom, so no, I crossed right over the river, up to 4th Street, and then east a...

Mastering the joysticks when the aircraft turns around

The easiest way to handle this is to look at your screen rather than -- or at least more than -- you look at the drone. Then stick right will turn aircraft right. On tip of that, after a fair bit of practice, you sort of automatically go through a gestalt switch (much like switching between...

    poor quality video on youtube/vimeo

Are you waiting an hour or two to watch it? I don't know about Vimeo, but Youtube will generally post a low-res version of your video while it's working on processing the higher res version. If you go back to it later, you'll find it looks much better.

    Unexpected

I put new props on my MA, and found the sound level went down considerably. It seems every little nick or flaw in a set of props makes them emit more noise. Anyone else noticed this?

    Ipad 9.7 or mini 4??

For myself, I find the full sized iPad unwieldy, and prefer the mini. I've never had a problem with the processor keeping up.

"Connection Lost!" -> Panic? (using Litchi)

Yup. I was about to say the same thing. I've never tried the Reverse thing, largely because, if the route is at all long and/or complicated, you risk running down your battery before it gets home. I just place a final waypoint right by me.

"Connection Lost!" -> Panic? (using Litchi)

Luckily, Litchi way point missions don't really need the controller, or a connection: you set the path, upload it to the bird, and it flies itself. I've gone out of reach a number of times, and it's always a little bit scary -- but it always comes back. Bear in mind that if you're directly...

    Strange No Fly Zone behavior

They're not jamming frequencies: it says on the DJI GO screen that I'm in a NFZ. They must send a signal to the software somehow. Though, even more oddly, it happened even though I had my tablet in airplane mode.

    Strange No Fly Zone behavior

I just solved it. It happened in Austin, Texas – where there's a big college football game tonight. The stadium is a mile or two from my house. Interesting that they can institute a no-fly zone on the fly like that. I wonder how they do it: through DJI (though that wouldn't account for...

    Strange No Fly Zone behavior

This afternoon I took off, as I've done dozens of times before, from the street in front of my house. This evening, when I went out to fly again, both DJI Go and Litchi told me I was in a no-fly zone and wouldn't let me take off. Is it possible that the airspace was restricted, quickly and...

    Seeking Mavic Air replacement controller

DJI sold me one for $150. Not sure what their official policy is, or what I told them to get them to do it. As I recall, I just contacted their online customer support and told them I needed one. if that doesn't work, try Ebay (though they tend to be overpriced) or, occasionally, Craigslist.

I have made a mistake, please help me rectify it.

The Air is much easier to travel with, and while it doesn't have the range of the Pro, it sounds like that doesn't matter to you. It also has better video than the Pro (though not than the Pro 2). And it's cheaper. I'd get the Air if I were you.
