It does seem that official DJI suppliers do in fact have more stock. And the gray market is thriving as well. I think and hope that the DJI story isn't over. It may evolve.

I didn't watch the whole video. But from what I saw I do not see anything majorly wrong. It did not fly over people or moving vehicles, it did not interfere with public safety personnel. But I could see some police officers maybe getting over zealous and asking you to land.
