Corp of Engineers Dams & Locks no fly zones?

Ok, I have kind of an update. Spoke with a local airport manager who is a pilot, and is familiar with part 107. He stated that the only thing the Corp can restrict, is drones taking off and landing on their property (which we were definitely at fault for). They have zero authority on the...

Corp of Engineers Dams & Locks no fly zones?

Don't give up on the hobby just yet, as there are plenty of other interesting places to fly. I have gotten some amazing shots near my house, snow fall, sunsets, fog....you name it. I've also flown at some beautiful state parks, and has of yet, not had any issues. One of my favorite videos was...

Corp of Engineers Dams & Locks no fly zones?

Thanks for all the replies so far! Please note that I am not at all upset that we were told we couldn't fly there, however, if they are right, then those sites need added to the apps to prevent people from doing what we did. I do have an FAA contact, and am going to run it by him. If I find out...

Nice pics! Here are a couple of mine from today:

Corp of Engineers Dams & Locks no fly zones?

Exactly! Knowing where we can fly is important, and this kinda thing makes it hard to do so sometimes! [emoji106]

Corp of Engineers Dams & Locks no fly zones?

Possibly, but if the FAA tells you to check their apps before you fly, and their apps give you an all clear, then how do you know? Also, from the part 107 training/test, only the FAA has jurisdiction over airspace, thus the Corp of Engineers cannot decide their airspace is private. They could...

    Yes....fairly old dam.

We checked Skyvector afterwards, and it shows nothing. FYI, the dam in question is the Bluestone Dam in Hinton, WV.

Corp of Engineers Dams & Locks no fly zones?

So today, a buddy and I were out flying, and decided to get some footage of a local dam. When we got on site, I checked Airmap, and it gave me an all clear/no restrictions. My buddy pulled up the Before You Fly app, and it too said we were clear. When we were ready to take off, we made sure...

DJI Goggles head tracking not working. Help!

I don't really want to be dishonest, and besides, for the price I got these at, I'm not too unhappy with the head tracking not working. I did do the latest update hoping that would do something, but no dice.

DJI Goggles head tracking not working. Help!

Yeah, mine will not calibrate. Everything else on the goggles works fine though. I did buy these used off of eBay, and got a very good deal...maybe that is why.

DJI Goggles head tracking not working. Help!

Anyone have an issue getting the goggles to do an IMU calibration? Every time I try, it says the calibration failed, and trying to get into the head tracking modes tells me that I need to calibrate the IMU.

    Goggles IMU calibration fails

Well, plugging them back in to Assistant still gives me the "cannot load firmware list" error. I tried the option to reset to factory defaults, but that always fails. I probably would not use the head tracking, but I've contacted the eBay seller anyhows.

    Goggles IMU calibration fails

I did try that, and Assistant would see the goggles, but gave me a "cannot load firmware list" error. I tried it with Go, and sure enough, it found a firmware update, and did update the goggles. However, still get the same issue...head tracking modes tell me to calibrate the IMU, but the IMU...

    Goggles IMU calibration fails

I purchased some goggles on eBay, and got a pretty good deal. They seem to work fine, except for the head tracking. When I go into either of those modes, it tells me I need to calibrate the IMU. When I do that, it always says the calibration fails. Not sure if it's something I am doing wrong...
