Class G airspace and Class E

Enlisted and NCOs are UAV pilots, sensor operators and maintainers in the US Army and Marine Corps. And you beat me to the clarification on Sea Cadets. As for his BUQ-1 training, nothing special about that. The curriculum is freely available on the web. It's great that the Navy provides that...

How to check on Part 107 Certificate

You asked this same question a month ago and several FAA links were provided, including the Airmen Certification Branch and IACRA.

    Airspace Authorization

Most, if not all, Class D airspace starts at the surface and has a specific ceiling. Class B, C and E have varying floors and ceilings. Class D, though, often changes to Class E when the control tower is closed.

Adding a Firehouse Arc II 4LED Strobe to identify M2P front & rear in the distance

Yes. I have the Arc II 4 LED strobe mounted on the rear vertical section of my MP1 for the same reason. I've seen it many hundreds of feet away during daylight. Depending on the background (dark clouds or terrain), the range can be farther than you would think. I wear glasses, too.

    492 ft. altitude limit!

You're in a DJI bowtie Altitude Zone. 150m = 492 ft Not sure how to clear the message, typically there is some means of acknowledging it.

Not so new DJI Go4 map showing airspace

No, it won't drop you drone into the water, but it will limit your altitude. It's another DJI invention: Altitude Zones: Altitude zones will appear in gray on the map. Users receive warnings in DJI GO, or DJI GO 4 and flight altitude is limited. Check TFRs before you fly there, though. It does...

    400' AGL

Of course, all of the above is legal as long as you're within the altitude requirements of the airspace you're in.

    400' AGL

You can fly no higher than 400' above the surface directly below the aircraft, so yes, you could fly to the top of the hill as long as you remain with 400' of the surface. You don't get an extra 400' bonus at the top. If there is a structure there, and you have a Part 107 cert, then you could...

Lake Drummond, VA - Anyone know if OK to fly there?

Lake Drummond is fully contained within the Great Dismal Swamp National Wildlife Refuge. From the FAA: Pilots are requested to maintain a minimum altitude of 2,000 feet above the surface of the following: National Parks, Monuments, Seashores, Lakeshores, Recreation Areas and Scenic Riverways...

LAANC, DJI Geozones, argis map, and small airports

Here's the map. You are in a blue DJI Authorization Zone or orange Enhanced Warning Zone per the DJI list posted above. It has nothing to do with LAANC or the FAA Class E airspace (the class number 3 or 5 is irrelevant). Your problem is with DJI and its invented zones for your "our" safety. Is...

Drone vs. Police Helicopter in my own hometown

Didn't need to be registered, just a "If found please contact" name and phone number, which would be pretty funny if that's the case.

Drone did not want to land

Recently had the same problem with a M2E Dual. Trying to land at night on asphalt that wasn't "wet" but it had rained earlier in the evening. The aircraft stopped about 3ft/1m above the asphalt. Turned the landing light off and it would land. Tried a couple of different places with the same...
