I fly in the gap as well. I have flown into the area once by the port taking off from outside the area. If you do there are plenty of places to lift off from outside. It is a very busy area anyway with rockets, heli, ships and subs. To each is own but not for me.

Trevor, I am currently on Maui and think it highly unlikely that you will find a larger tour boat like the Calypso that will let you launch however I try to fly daily at a new place I found while on this trip. It is West of the Maui Ocean Center about half way to the scenic look out everyone...

Have you found a way to use 4k as the default rather then having to select 4k every time? Got the RE goggles the other day and so happy with the range. The antenna for me was key.

Squamer you summed that up great. I will ad I was able to fly at Molokini crater and it was a riot! The company used the picture later in their promo material. Great time shooting everywhere !

But they are not the same.... Documented differences that many find useful and when someone is looking into buying one this info is good to know.
