I had a similar issue using the Dronelink app in follow me mode. I'm flying a Mavic Mini (1) and have been using Dronelink for the last year or so and have been very pleased with it so far. My first attempt with the follow me mode was a complete fail though, just took off on it's own and crashed...
One limitation that I'm aware of in the free version of resolve is that the maximum resolution your can export (save) your output is 1080p. That should be enough for social media use.
Does that change the tone of the mini at all?

The phone compatibility problem seems to be that currently there is only a 64 bit version of DJI Fly, so your device needs 64 bit hardware and a 64 bit os. I'm hoping that if DJI get enough complaints they might release a 32 bit version of Fly...
I asked DJI support if they were going to release a 32 bit version of Fly, they responded quickly but didn't really answer my question...

According to "AnTuTu Benchmark" app even though the cpu architecture is 64 bit the tablet is running Android 7 (32 bit) .
Which leads the the inevitable question anyway to update a 32 bit android os to 64 bit?
...Just a quick bit of googling and it seems the device needs minimum...

It's inconsistent because DJI Fly with install and run on my Samsung Note 5 and that is the same vintage, annoying as hell...
