    Thank you all so much for your answers. To clarify, launch position sets the altitude at zero and up or down from that point, regardless of land proximity will be the altitude reading (plus or minus).

    Hi all, if I were to fly my mavic pro off the edge of a mountain would it decend to below 500m of ground directly below it or would it keep within 500m above its launch altitude? I want to fly across a valley. Thanks.

    That's great, thank you. I am lucky enough to have a roof terrace room at the hotel which is on the grand canal so take off and land should be okay.

    Hi all, I am new to the site and new to flying (have had my Mavic pro for about a week). I am off to Venice next week and wondered if anyone has experience flying there and or any restrictions? Any feedback would be appreciated.
