Glad this worked out. I’m moving down there end of June. Would love to join the team. Think I have experience and connections that could help in future situations.
In the future people remember your IFR. That RC has valuable data on it. If you lose a video feed... climb to a safe altitude and fly in the direction that lowers your distance from home number. In reality you should always be flying in view of the aircraft but realistically I know that’s not...
Thought I would make this clear for anyone who has questions about it. A “UAS” is comprised of 3 parts. The aircraft, the controller, and the pilot. When the aircraft is flying in FAA airspace which is everywhere in the US below 400 feet it is illegal to interfere with any of those 3 entities...
In extremely cold temps or high moisture environments I fly with it on. Since it indeed blocks the air intake this allows for the aircraft to both “retain” heat and not suck in high levels of moisture. If it’s warmer than 40F I do not fly with it on as it does cause reflections and what not.
Same. Practically impossible for the aircraft to hold a position in windy conditions. 10mph winds or so. Sport mode is a must to get the craft back. Wouldn’t rely on RTH in windy conditions depending on distance from home.
