    This can’t be good

On the decent they were "probably" well under 250 kts. 90-80 kts in the C172's I fly ? Doesn't matter. It sounds like the article is bs

    De-register.

I'm about to let my Mini go to a new home (replaced it with a Mavic 2 Pro). Is my login and other info stored on the App only. I've searched and I don't see anything that can be reset on the drone.

How long should an update take

The phone died so there wasn't much choice for what to do next. I left the controller and drone connected and plugged in my ipad mini. When I started the app it connected and everything looked normal. I logged in, let the app update it's geo fencing "stuff", and set the app up (it had never been...

How long should an update take

It was about 5' away from the router. The cell phone WiFi always works there (and much farther). I live 6 miles from town so I can turn my WiFi power all the way up and not have to worry about some wingnut trying to hack my system. That said, if I can't stop the phone, app, or drone (per the...

How long should an update take

I took my Mavic 2 Pro outside about an hour ago with the intention of flying it. It asked if I wanted to update it. I did. It got to 73% about 20m ago and that's where it's been ever since. The drone will fly but all I see on my phone is the update screen with the file folder flinging across the...

    Batteries Stockage

In my RC flying days we had a battery cycler that did all of that for us. The Pro 2 is fine. Now that I understand that it discharges itself I won't go through a bi-monthly recharge. The controller holds a charge fine. I've read quite a few times, watched a video, etc that said the mini...

    Batteries Stockage

How does one discharge the batteries? I've been putting a full charge on the Mavic Mini and Mavic Pro 2 batteries every time I put it up. The Mini controller loses some charge over time but the drone batteries are almost always in need of a charge. I don't fly every day or even every week.

    Preferred flight mode

Same. I just flew my Mini in Cine mode (ta dump dump cha ching) Then flew the Mavic 2 Pro in ?? mode (no idea. I need to study the controller a bit while NOT flying). Freakin fast... I haven't had the Mavic 2 Pro very long...

The problem of un-commanded descent by Mini reproduced

I just had an uncommanded descent / motor can't reach full speed warning (I think that's what it said) this morning. Thankfully it descended from about 10' and landed on a thick area of clover, no damage. When I retrieved the drone I noticed that one of the rear props had snapped off. That...

    Drone nearly hits police officer

It looked to me like it was hovering and they rode past it.

Well the madness has started and the FBI is on the hunt

I have a coworker that got a cheap, non-DJI Drone for Christmas. He was having problems with it randomly flying off. I don't think it's GPS (if it even has one) s working. His first flight was in his backyard. Here's where it gets interesting. He lives under the Class Delta for the local airport...

Playing with Drone Mapping and M2P

True. I found it when I searched for a camera for the Mavic 2 Pro. It occured to me (later) that the electronics and software that controls the camera are an equally important factor. At this time I'm not considering the Enterprise edition but I thought it was interesting

Playing with Drone Mapping and M2P

Apparently DJI makes a Mavic 2 Pro Enterprise edition that can have a camera with a global shutter, dual cameras (on IR), lights, etc. It's based on the Mavic 2 Pro. Pricing didn't look horrible

Playing with Drone Mapping and M2P

Once I got back to work and I had the chance to discuss what I've learned (small amount that it is) with our 3D drafting guy I've decided to up the game a little. We can use the capabilities of the drone to map some of our facilities, remotely view hard to access sites, and a few other things...
