That is ridiculous. Waypoints were promised on the original Air and were even advertised in the marketing materials. There is zero reason not to have this other than something to differentiate the Pro from the Air.
With a landing pad that size you have almost zero room for error. If it works for you that's great, but I use a much bigger pad. It works for all my drones and gives me a much larger margin for error (which I need).
Is several hundred dollars "a few?"
Besides that the vast majority cannot legally fly beyond VLOS and the Evo won't prevent you from taking off which many DJI products may (depending on your location).
From your picture I think it is understandable. How can you expect to maintain connection at distances like that? I'm kidding of course and have only seen this with one other aircraft (Karma) where I could almost literally touch the aircraft and didn't have a signal. I know it's not...
I was going to compare to cell phones as well, but I don't think even those can go 1000 cycles before they begin to degrade. 1000 cycles would be charging 1.5 times a day for 2 years. After two years of normal usage your cell phone won't have the same battery staying power as it did when brand...
People look at me funny when I put down the landing pad when I'm about to go flying. Only takes one time of kicking up dirt, water, grass, pebbles, etc to see the value. It's not just for the take-off (though depending on your location that is actually more important) or landing.

These are the kind I have. They're good enough, plus they lock in place which I like.
I would say def. buy the following in this order:
1. Legs
2. Landing pad
3. Filters (less important to me, but must haves needed for others)
I'm assuming you already have:
1. Fly more bundle (or equivalent) ie batteries, controller, cables
2. Carrying case
3. Extra props
Does it have the reg number on it? If so, can the FAA actually be leveraged to get someone back their drone?
Either way, kudos to you for trying to get it back to the right person.
You should be able to do this through DJI go. There should be a download button when looking at the videos (through the app) that are on the drone. Don't have it in front of me, but that is how I remember doing it.
Welcome. Which Parrot. There is a huge difference even within that line. Either way the Air is a great little bird. A few drawbacks, but literally every drone has something you wish you could change.
