Probably not, at least the original Mavic using Go4 using the various follow modes would not. The reasoning was that it could not tell if there was an obstacle under it so it would be more susceptible to a crash. It was allowed to gain altitude because it was less likely to have anything above it.
Unless your local regulations are different, the warranty for Air batteries is 6 months. Because only one battery gives the error the problem is with the battery and not the Air. Since Care Refresh + is crash insurance I doubt that it will cover the battery replacement.
Hopefully, I learn something new every day. I did not know that Go 4 reported the GPS signal of the display device. Would you show me where that is reported?
Unless the M2 controller is different than the MP, the controller gets it's GPS info from your iPhone; it has no GPS receiver. If you are getting the 20+ satellite info on Go 4 then that is the satellite count on your M2.
To answer your questions:
1) RAM is cheap so at least double your 8GB. That and a big SSD (not cheap but getting reasonable) will really speed up most any computer. Whatever software you decide to use will list its RAM requirements. Install more than the minimum recommended. A lot of video...
Have you tried Proxy Editing? Premiere will create a lower resolution edition of your video where you do your editing and then will apply those edits to the 4K version during the render process.
From an IT standpoint, it is better to have several smaller files than one big file. If a large file gets corrupted you lose your whole video instead of one smaller part.
